First of all the big brake kits offered for our cars is hella expensive. Can you just design a system for your car fully customized? I'm thinking about doing so.
First reason the price of bigbrake kits are like 2,000 plus for one end of our cars. I found wilwood calibers for arround 140 each.
Second reason it seems as if I can upgrade the calibers and get really good rotors for far less then 2000 on all end of the car.
Third reason Can't I just make my own brackets with some 1/4 steel plate and really strong bolts and spacers?

Has anyone done this? How did it come out? Can it be done??

If you are looking for a big brake kit, I would assume you are looking to do some track time. Drop weight, and you will get the same effect, but not to the same degree, unless you drop a lot of weight. And it is free.

I am trying so hard to get into scca road racing. So yes I'm looking for seeing track time. I also autocross every chance i get. So the big brake would really come in handy.

Im interested in the track too... i cant see how hard it would be to get other brakes to fit... All you need are bigger rotors with the same bolt pattern... and you could make an adapter to fit ... I assisted a buddy with his willwood big break kit for his 88mr2, was just calipers and a spacer/adapter to make the calipers line up right. And massive brake rotors... hehe

what we need to do is hit baer racing up and get them to make a kit for our cars. I had there kit on my eclipse 13" inch 2-piece, zinc plated, cross drilled, and slotted rotors. The kit used 2 piston calipers off of the C5 vette. I could stop on a damn dime, you get less worried about ever hitting the ones in front of you and more worried about someone hitting you from the back. They stopped the car hard time after time after time. They also filled the hell out of my 17" rims, they barely even fit. The best thing was brand new the kit was only 8XX bux and I got it used for 200. Here is a pic:

But 935motorsports, i think, do sell adapters so that we can use the 300zx TT calipers. And then you can always use the mk4s rear brakes to uprade the rear system.
