BIC pre 89 motor mounts question

I was just wondering how durable the BIC motor mounts are for a 2jz in a pre 89 Supra.

I was just wondering cos I plan on making a lot of power with my 2jz. I've heard some engine swaps are done and the engines make enough power to torque itself out of the mounts or something like that. I don't know how true or false that may be. I'm just making sure, cos I'd rather ask and look stupid for asking than have the engine in the car and think I'm a genius till it torques itself out of the mounts.

P.S. I think I've seen the owner of BIC around the forums. I don't mean to question if your product is good or bad. I'm just wondering how much power they'll take.

Unless they're glued together instead of welded you wont have any issues. You'll break the rubber mount far before you do anything to the bracket.

Randy's mounts are as good of quality as you're going to find.

I'm not sure of the failure rate of these...but I can't say I've ever seen an "I broke my BIC mount" thread...So that's probably a good thing. ;)

The brackets will Never break!!. If you can break one with engine tourque I will gladly send you another set. The has been no problems in 3+ years and hundreds of sets sold. The BIC solid motor mounts will also never break, garanteed. The stock mounts are a different story, they are soft rubber and the 89+ style mounts are common to break, so solids are reccomended for high power (500+ HP), the 86.5-88 mounts are stronger but can still crack or seperate.

That's great to hear that they're so durable. Also good knowing you'd replace them if by some chance they did break. I'll definitely be picking up a pair eventually. So is that all I need to get it mounted into the Supra? I remember reading something about needing the jz crossmember or something but then I found these mounts.

With these brackets they just bolt into your car, you just need to get the correct style for your car, there is thew 86.5-88 with the square motor mounts, or the 89-92 styloe with the round motor mounts.
