Recently began having problems with my '89 T. Here is what is happening;

Very distinct spark miss at idle when warm
Loss of coolant through overflow (1 gallon / wk)

I am concerned that this may be a problem with the head gasket, but I do not have any oil in the coolant and it seems to run fine. I did a compression check at operating temperature and found;

Cylinder 1 - 158 psi
Cylinder 2 - 161 psi
Cylinder 3 - 160 psi
Cylinder 4 - 161 psi
Cylinder 5 - 158 psi
cylinder 6 - 149 psi

I believe that +/- 10 psi between cylinders is within spec, but I am not 100% on that. If anyone has had a similar experiance, or can offer some new insight to this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

::bhg:: Classic case....mine was spitting coolant through the overflow and the compression was fine and then one day.....the temperature gauge never stopped half way... Good Luck

More than likely, what you will find is that one of the water jacket seals on the HG by cylinder #6 is on its way out.....
