What's the most effective way of cleaning out a motor that has a BHG? This is with the block still in the vehicle. I want to avoid using an engine flush, so I don't get leaks in the long run. Any good tips?

I mean getting all of the contaminated oil milkshake out. I can flush the coolant system easily, but what's the best method for the oil?
Use some brake/carb cleaner.Make sure when you do this to re oil/lube bearings etc.Because the carb/brake clean strips of lube/oil and that includes rod bearings and then rod knock.
Change the oil and filter (obviously) , then, when you have the thing apart connect a drill to the oil pump drive pulley and spin it CW. You can do this with the head and turbo off but be prepared for oil to shoot out of the disconnected holes in the block. Then change the oil and filter and repeat. With the engine back together pull the EFI fuse and crank the engine for 30 seconds to get oil flowing to the turbo before you start. Finally, change the oil again after bringing the engine to hot condition in case you missed some milkshake trapped in the oil cooler. Coolant in the oil is really bad, you are wise to take precautions.
