Tomorrow I'm going to take my car to the shop. The guy is japanese and he's a toyota cetified mechanic. I bought the arp head studs, new spark plugs, wires, stat and the whole gasket kit. I told the mechanic that I want to surface the heads and the block even thought the car was rebuilt 15,000 miles ago cuz I'm putting a mhg. I don't know yet what kinda mhg. I'm going to call the company who did the rebuilt cuz they told me that when they did the rebuilt they bored out.Let me know please what kinda mhg. My goal is to put down 400-500 rwhp. I need to get the engine harness also, water pump, aftermarket radiator. One more question should I get the n/a cams instead.
Thanks a lot guys

why does everybody feel the MHG is needed? I mean unless your pushing 20 psi it's kinda overkill right? Don't you WANT the head gasket to go before the head? seems cheaper. also the only cam needed is the intake side, I'm installing one on my rebuild, havn't got much responce as to wether or not it'll make a big difference, guess I'll find out.

Any MHG will do fine - the cometic is more forgiving on how well you need to surface everything, but has had quality control problems with putting rivets on the sealing surface, so if you buy one, double check the rivets to make certain they won't be in the way - a crushed rivet will prevent you from getting a decent seal.

aiming and reaching are 2 different things. If he plans on reaching, he's going to need alot more than a MBC and MHG to get it. No build on that bottom end and a blown composite will be the least of his worries. But hey, theres plenty of room left on the MGH band wagon eh?
