well for the second time my hg has blown, the mechanic who fixed it obviously put a new hg on and new bolts with the torque specs, but it blew again, i think he gaurantees his work so i will get it fixed. but after that i am going to sell it for 3k

What did he torque the head to? Also... did he have the head machined flat? What are the details????
im pretty sure it was torqued to 67, but ill ask him tomorrow, and i am almost positive the head was machined

I torque mine to 85 lb/ft. That's with new ARP stud and lube, mhg. machined deck and head. never a problem.

I retorques after 150 miles and around 8 heat cycles. I had originally torqued a new set of Toyota head bolts fo 72. When I retorqued several of them were still at 72 and several of them were 15ft/lbs lower!!! A retorque is an absolute MUST.
