Im doing everything. The block you name it. Whats the best way to go about this?

A. Take off the hood and start disassembling

B: take out the engine with tranny and disassemble on the floor

Is it worth it to take out the motor to work on it? Ill probably be working in my garage keep in mind. Jack stands, etc no hoist.

no brainer, if you're rebuilding completely, just yank the motor and trans together. Seperate the trans fromt the motor, and put the engine on a stand. Dont try to work off the floor. A stand is well worth the cost. I think I got mine at Checker for like $29.99.

Are you sure you are up to this task? If your not sure how to pull the engine or how you want to tear it down...you may be in over you head.

Just trying to save you some heart ack later.

lol id borrow a hoist I know a few people with one. I was just making sure if it was truly worth it to take the whole thing out at once. I guess it is.

Theweezl: What kind of stand are you referring to?

and yes im up to the task. Ive done an HG on my old supra worked out fine. Entire thing is a bit more difficult but i will manage.

Glad to hear that...I know the first time I tore into one...I was overwhelmed, after a few its no big deal.

Let us know how it goes.

Northern Tool co. sells a engine hoist (1ton) for $149 works great. Look under
Automotive tools at northerntools.com
They have some of the best values on toos I have found.
