I forgot to put the EGR back on before i put the intake manifold on... and now my car is basicly back together. I cant get that dang EGR bolted on. I can't seem to find a way to reach back there. Would I have to take my intake off to get it on?

It's tight, but you can get the EGR on without pulling the manifold (I did it).

Loosen the fitting nut on the EGR tubing...a ratching wrench helps too. Make sure the EGR is clean and the valve functions before you put it on...don't want to do all this and it not work ;)

Putting the egr on the manifold isn't bad, if you need to put the cooler on the head it's hard as hell. I had to buy a special set of low profile wrenches to do it.

just gotta have a lot of patience and a light touch to get the bolts to slip into the holes. i was a dumbass and took the entire intake off to change the starter. it was a total pain the ass but once i got to the starter it made that a little easier...

Mine leaked before HG job, worked fine post HG job (September) until december, where one of the screws backed all the way out and actually fell out. They were all tightened and used locktite, yet the vibrations/pressure backed them out and i have a helicopter sound again. Wish it wasnt in the 30's so i an tighten this damn thing up again, btw where did you guys get the sockets/wrenches to reach? Mine cant reach or if the do i have no room to turn them.

I got it on about a week ago.. It wasnt to bad. The intake manifold was on also. All it takes is a socket and a swivel and time. but it is in nice and tight now.

correct me if im wrong but isnt taking the valve covers off supposed to make it a lot easier to reach back there? I havent tried this option yet considering I put mine back while eveything was back together but a though.

Yes the EGR can be eliminated, It will stop recirculating the old gas, and only use new gas but you gas mileage will drop

Nah valve covers make no difference I think. Taking the manifold makes a but of room though... but still hard.. The 100% best way is taking out the engine.
