This man is doomed to be eventually crushed in some type of undercar accident. I thought for a breif moment he was going to lay under the car while lowering it down with the transmission on his chest or something.

What a wimp. I'm amazed he knew how to use the tranny jack and a tall stand to tilt the motor back.

TruTV's The Smoking Gun Presents Worlds Dumbest: Mindless Mechanics.

The first half of the vid, im thinking to myself:
A: this guys either gonna have a hernia, break his back, or loose his balance and drop the trans.
B: This guy has a lift, how the fuck does he not have a trans jack!?

The he pulled out the trans jack, and I'm thinking:
A: WTF? why wasnt this guy using it in the first place?
B: He was failing so bad, I half expected him to tip the thing over.

Then the jack just rolls away, and i thought:
A: Now hes definitely going to drop it.
B: Correct me if im wrong, but dont most trans jacks come with a strap to hold the trans to the jack?

Yet somehow he succeded:
A: In my book he still failed.
B: If I ever did something this stupid, I would never tell anyone, let alone post it on youtube.

To close:
A: This guy doesn't have ANY friends?! This is something I would want an extra set of hands for.
B: This is why everyone says its easier to pull the motor/trans together.

like seriously after seeing this makes me feel strong lol, r154 is hella light and easy, he made it look like it was a concrete slab or something. he didnt even secure the transmission on the jack btw. it almost slipped off

Progression of logic would dictate that if he couldn't lift the transmission off the floor by himself with some measure of ease, he won't be able to hold it up for any length of time. Thus, he will not be able to get anything into the bellhousing to bolt it on while holding the transmission in place... even if he is able to move it into position, which he wouldn't be able to do anyway.

In situations like that, brute force and pure strength are not the smartest, safest, or cheapest ways to do it. Imagine if he'd have dropped that trans? It'd probably be scrap with a screwed casing.
