Yea they can, but you can fix them easily with basically a color rainbow, its basically just runs the LCD through a bunch of colors to remix them.

Ya, no Sony LCD should suffer burn in permanently.

Even on most plasma's now it's tough to ruin a tv with burn-in.

A weekend is a long time though...
