Ok guys, I have a sc300 with a 1jz. As soon as i get my car to run after a month the battery dies. so i go to replace it with my friends battery not thinking about the size of the terminals. i go ahead and plug it in in the negative side and then i tried putting it on the positive side but the terminal was too small on the battery and sparks flew from the battery. i immediatly disconnect and plug in a new right battery. Now the car wouldnt start and all you hear is the fuel pump priming. so i checked the fuses in the engine bay and a 20 amp blew and a 120a alternator amp blew, so i go ahead and change it out and still that didnt help. you can't even hear the starter click now when before you did. Any suggestions?????????????

well the first thing u did wrong was connect a ground before u connected the power, always remove the ground then the power and always put on the power before you put on a ground. Make sure u check all ur fuses again, check the fuses in the kicker panel too

Really?? I always thought you put the ground on first in case there is a load in the positive wire, so that way you dont fry your wiring and blow your fuses. Guess ive been doing it wrong for years. Oh well hasnt hurt me yet. llol

Did you replace the known bad fuses and such?

Are you sure that the terminals were to blame?
Some batteries have a reverse terminal polarity, so the +/- will be -/+. I'm willing to bet that's what happened. Grab the numbers off your friend's battery and compare it to yours. I bet one has an "R" at the end of the number and one doesn't.

Relays can and do go bad, but they won't click.

ya i guess you were right the polarities were reversed. and yes i changed all the fuses and checked every fuse in the car like 10 times, all the fuses are good now. does anyone know what could be the problem as of why the starter won't click????

Have you tested the starter relay?
Also, what year is the SC? I'll try to look up a wiring diagram and point out the starter circuit wires you need to test.

Edit: Do you have an alarm installed in the vehicle? I've seen alarms (both aftermarket and factory) die when reverse polarity is applied. If they have a starter-disabling function the car won't crank if the alarm isn't working.

Do you know what makes people not want to help you??????

Let's start from the beginning, what DOES get power? Dash lights? Anything?

Everything gets power, the dash lights, headlights, dome lights etc...., just not the starter, i hear no clicking!!!
