What is a sign of a bad fuel pump? I currently have a prob w/ my Supra. Here in the west coast where the temps are around 105 - 107,i have been experiencing a idle prob w/ my car. When it's cool in the morning, the car will start up and idle just fine, around 550 - 600 rpm's. But as soon as it start getting hot outside, the rpm's will fall, and the car will die. It will re-start again with no problem, but it won't STAY started. If i feather the pedal, and find a good position to keep it running,it will stay running. I asked on this forum before, and was told it can't be vapor lock,as the fuel pump is in the tank. Strange thing is that I dropped off my girlfriend at her house with the car running with the problem described,i pulled into her drive way, wich is at a slant, and idled there for a while, and mysteriously went away.WTF?!?!?!
Does it need a sacrafice? Dos it not like my girlfriend?
