On my 87 mk3, a friend of mine rewired my whole car because the wires got fried due to an exhaust leak. It runs now but still has some troubles starting. I wiggle around the cps connectors and bam! the car starts right up. My problem now is that the cars idling inconsistently. Its bouncing between 400 and about 800. It'll occasionally die as well. The car runs sluggish and gets jerky above 55 mph. I told my friend about the symptoms and his guess was the AFM going bad. My question is how accurate is this and if it is, where can I find a good AFM without getting entirely robbed? (Keep in mind I'm 17 without a job) lol thanks for the help.
