When I shift gears I am getting what sounds like a backfire out of the tail pipe under boost. Could my stock bov not be opening? I only have about 20mi on car with new turbo, running very well otherwise.

i think its common
only upgrades i have are 3in full exhaust, 3in dp, fmic, hks bov
besides that im all stock on stock boost

If you vent to atmosphere and don't recirculate the metered air, a good amount of HC's go into the exhaust where the gasoline can explode.

Normal, you have a HKS BOV vented to atmosphere. Will cause a rich condition every time the BOV opens and rpm's drop
