I noticed that my rear passenger shock had alot of gunk on it. In fact, the entire area was covered with the stuff. I think my axle boot has a puncture in it letting some of the grease out. I haven't heard any noises from the axle yet but I still think I should replace it, better safe than sorry. Has anyone replaced this before? I think its the part in the box labeled 04438D at the bottom left:

(the boot closest to the wheel)

I've taken the axle out of the hub before but I never really looked at it. Has anyone replaced this before? Anything I should know? Thanks guys.

I come from a land down under
I've stripped down a pair of axles and to get the boots on and off you need to pull the inner CV joint off then remove the circlip on the end of the axle then the tri-bearing then finally the boots.
