I didn't try and fool anyone with the title, so I may not get too many views on this. I was just wondering about the duty cycle and boost cycle of my avc-r. I've been reading and haven't figured it out yet. How close should the two be to each other. In rpm mode, I have my boost cycle set at 50, and my duty cycle set at 33. Is their a percentage that they should be within to each other? I don't want to tear something up, because it's running too good right now. What does the duty cycle control? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't be bashful, just blurt your answers right out. I will take any and all suggestions..............lol...................:1zhelp:

Sorry IJ. It's boost setting and duty cycle. Of course you knew this already, as you know everything..............;)
I'm still reading my instruction manual. Does the duty cycle or the boost setting actually set the boost? It seems like the boost setting would, but as I read, it sounds like the duty cycle does. I'm going to read it again and again, but I would like some other suggestions. By that, I don't mean, Buy walmart stock............................lol

Thanks IJ. I found this formula that tells me how to go from bars to psi. Right now I have my boost betwen 40-50 depending on what rpm it's at. I watched my boost on the avcr and did the math. It came out to 12 psi max in fourth gear. So to raise the boost pressure, I would raise my duty cycle one or two points higher? Should I try it with the boost numbers where they are at now? I may not have reached the max boost yet. I definately don't want to go higher than around 14 psi. If I change my duty cycle, it's going to set my boost higher. I don't know what I'm trying to ask you, so I know it's going to be hard for you to answer me................:dunno:

I'll read up on it some more tonight. Right now I'm going to go out and try to retap my wife's turbo oil feed. The new block I bought has the wrong size threads and it keeps leaking oil. More like pouring oil. I don't know how I'm going to get to it without pulling the motor out. I'm at least going to try and see what I can get done. Wish me luck. Thanks for trying to help me, but it's hard for me to ask you what I want when I don't really know............lol

i don't know a whole lot about it but i know my friend always sets his injector duty and his turbo duty to the samd percentage.

i.e: boost= 50%
inj. = 50%

it seems to work well, he always runs ritch (it's a rotary), and he hasn't had any problems.

I come from a land down under
I don't have the INJ setup as I use the gear sense and if I remember right there's something in the manual about not using it.

Set your duty to 40% go out and run it hard in 3rd or 4th and see what the boost goes to with the telltale (Up button on down button off and right button to clear)

14 psi is .96 bar and .98 kgcm/2 (what the AVC-R displays)

Hey IJ, Thanks again. I may keep mine where it is at for a while. I'm being somewhat of a sissy. It's running so good now that I'm scared to up the boost. I just redid my head gasket a while back, but have never retorqued the bolts. I think I might do that and then up the boost to about fourteen pounds. Thanks for all your help, as usual you go above and beyond the call of duty...............lol

My boost reading on the avc-r reads the negative, but when I boost, it stops at 0. My boost gauge reads 14 psi, but my avc-r won't go past 0. Does anyone know what's causing this? Thanks for any help................lol

It worked perfectly today when I drove it IJ. I didn't reset anything. I got in it and drove it and it must have been in a better mood.............;)

I did blow off a i.c. pipe twice today. Two different times. I now have them all tight and ready to put my bumper back on. I bought them from Aaron and they look damn good............lol
