Hi!

I have an problem with my autotranny.
It will not shift to second gear at wot..
I dont think it even tries to shift to second..
I think it is the speedsensor in the tranny that is broken..
If i drive normal it shifts to second gear..and all of the outers gears...
On my Apexi AVC-R i can see the speed...
But it is not a stady reading....If i drive at the same speed...it can read between 60 khm 75 khm....
So if i am correct..the tranny controller reads the speedsensor to know when to shift..because he dosent now what RPM the engine has...am i correct????

So i think i has problem with my speedsensor.....
Has anybody some ideas about my problem...it is not funny when the RPM is WAY above 6000 RPMs..

Thanks!

Hi!
Hmm codes...i have not OD lamp in my display now..
The tranny had problem before rebuild to get in second gear at the Power mode.
But it could go in second gear at Normal mode at wot.
The tranny is now rebuild with Level10 parts.
I have the Lex-AFM//550 Apexi AVC-r/SAFC-II ,Suprasport Turbo.

If there is a problem with the speedsensor..showing to low speed.. the tranny has not come up to the limit for shifting to second gear.
The engine runs so fast to 6000 RPMs now at first gear.
Downshifting is firm and fast from any gear..
No codes was displayed before modifications to display....

Ok - I was thinking there was no kickdown, but your problem is upshifting. Check to make sure you connected the line pressure cable to both the tranny and the throttle body linkage. If you had a problem with the ECT ECU before the upgrade, it might just be that ecu - try swapping with someone local if you can. Also fix the o/d light so you can read the codes if there are any.

Not so many answers here...

I have mesured up all inputs and outputs from the Tranny ECU..and everything works.
I have a switch now and can manuelly switch to Second gear.
I will test that when i can drive the car on the streets.

Hmm I have read that the APEXi AVC-r is bad to read the velocity...
It can be that if you hook it up on the SP1 on the ECU..And have a bad wire to the tranny so can the reading flickker in the APEXI....

Just a thout if your APEXi is not showing the right speed.
The Speedsensor is mounted in the house of speedometerhousing.
Hope someone has some use for this info..

Sorry for the spelling....

So you are saying that when driving the tranny shifts voltages via the SL1 and SL2 wires goes from on,off to on,on, to off,on to off,off and the tranny does not shift along with it?

If the ect ecu is not outputing these voltages, fix the diagnostic light and read your trouble codes to see if the speed sensor or sols are bad. If you get no codes, replace the ecu.

Hi!

The tranny works fine in normal driving.
I think the shift point for second gear in WOT is to high for the tranny.
But i will test that soon.

Here is a link to Level10...i have the Stage 3 PTS KIT.
I had delivery problem with Level10..took 3 mounth to get the parts.

I just had my tranny rebuilt to level 10. Cost me a grand total of 690.00. I talked to the guys at IPT (?) about their level 10 tranny kit & I wasn't overly impressed considering how much money they charged for it. I called dialaclutch.com (1-877-A-Clutch), told them I wanted to add two additional clutches here, one extra there, & they calculated the new thickness & quantities os the clutches & I received a package the next day with everything (even new steel plates) that was needed for $202.00.

I called my local tranny company (ironically, they were recommended by IPT) inquiring on the cost of the rebuild. They qouted me $350.00 if I supplied the rebuild kit & R&R'd the tranny. Basically they were only to set it on the bench & rebuild it. Oh, for an additional $12.00, I had them put stronger springs in the valve body giving it tighter shifts. Later I found out that the kick down cable had to be replaced, costing something like $125.00 from Toyota :greddy:, but I didn't complain too much.

I've had about the same issues about shifting since I've installed the tranny. I think my tranny 'puter is on the fritz, so I'll be hitting Mr. Rowe here in a few days  . Even though I'm having issues, I'm certain that I'll get them fixed with a few adjustments, but I can tell a huge difference.

$690 compared to $3,000 :aigo: . I'll take it.
