So I bought the cheap Autopal H4 Conversion, and I'm very satisfied. I can get some better bulbs later, but for now I used the bulbs that came with them, They are an improvement over the Sylvania Cool Blues I had. These Autopals really light up the right side of the road, I like that as a safety factor. The only mod I did was to use Copper High Temp Silicone to seal the boot to bulb, boot to housing, and around where the lens is sealed to the housing to protect the ceramic from the elements.

I'm glad you like em, i was thinking of changing my Sylv.'s too. Heres a question, though. You see that diagonal bar of light from the right headlight in your first pic? Mine does that too, and i can't figure out what causes it. i adjusted my lights and helped some, but it's still there. Not THAT important, but a little irritating. :/

On these Auotpals, you can see in the lens where this is made, its actually kind cool, it's evidently intended to illuminate road signs, and anything on your right like parked cars, and pedestrians. Save the pic I posted , zoom in on it, and you can see on the angled left side of the of the lens that does that.

It's intentional. It's to shine light on roadside signs.

Also, you're not supposed to seal the housings, the boots on the back are dust boots, they're supposed to let air circulate. Sorry to say it, but I'd want to slap someone that did that to a car I bought

Poodles actually the boots seal pretty well by themselves, I just added some silicone to help keep moisture out. I live on the coast, and I didnt want to come out one morning and see condensation inside them. Thanks for the heads up though I'll keep an eye on them to see if any negatives show up. So far they're working great.

That has a pretty tight beam pattern for a "cheap" kit, I'm impressed. Then again I dont think I've ever seen someone do a demo for the hella conversion kit.

I used a Hella kit as well and have been quite pleased with them. Put in some PIAA bulbs at the same time and called it a day. Looks good and more importantly, light up the road in front of me quite nicely WITHOUT blinding the person I'm following.

The Hellas seem to have pretty much the same light pattern from what I could tell seeing many pictures of them around the net. The only obvious of the two manufacturers is a difference in price, the Autopals were 27.00 a set, the Hellas look to be anywhere from 69.00 to over 100.00.
