I am in the process of taking off the manual tranny TB and putting an auto one on. My questions are...

This thing came off the manual tranny TB and my auto TB does not have one on it but I'm sure it's supposed to. Now this one fits but does not line up with the linkage. Does my TB have to have it?

Also, I swapped the TPS and was wondering how much if any is the throttle valve in the TB supposed to be open with the TPS attached? I hope that makes sense.

-That is a dash pot for emissions in the pic. I would use it but it wont hurt if it is off.

-If you are changing the TPS their is a difference in certian years. The angles of the sensor are different and you may have a different year throttle body with a different year TPS sensor.

The 2 lines inside the TPS sensor should line up with the 2 lines on the Throttle body.
