so as is says my tranny isnt shifting like it should. When i floor it, it takes a sec to DS. I checked the cable, and its all in spec (the crimp on cable comes out of orange boot about 1 mm). Idk if thats just how it is with these trannys or not, but it doesnt have the instant DS like i think it should.

It also will shift at around 5500 rpm in PWR Mode, and i know it should be a little closer to redline.

It will also sometime kinda double downshift when i floor it. But its a very quick change between gears..

Other than when i hit it, it seems to shift fine.

JW what you guys think it could be.

It doesn't shift based on RPM, but on road speed. 5500 is about normal. Your time frame doesn't mean much. That isn't about you personaly, just people see things different. In actual time, the downshift should be quicker than 1 second. But not by much.

Isn't this the transmission you put the wrong fluid in?

yes it is lol i put some of the lucas tranny fix in and it seems to be working fine for now. I know, i know, im gunna put the right stuff in as soon as i can.. lol

And what do you mean it shifts on road speed? so like shifts at a certain MPH? I dnt have my speedo hooked up right now, that wouldnt cause anythin right...? cause ive watched videos of auto supras hittin 6500 RPM then shifting... idk

shift points are based off of MPH not off of RPM.. Its also based off of the throttle position sensor.. If your speedo cable isnt hooked up or broken the O/D light should be blinking

No trans shifts on RPM, but they often will have a limiter added to the program. The vehicle speed sensor and TPS replaced how upshifts occured in non electronic controlled transmissions. When governor pressure would over come throttle pressure, spool valves move forcing an upshift. Putting your foot on the floor would raise throttle pressure, overcoming governor pressure, forcing a down shift. The governor valve is operated by the output shaft. The faster the vehilce speed, the higher the governor pressure.

The TPS and VSS have replaced those functions. The following page shows you the shift schedule.
