you said you pulled the pan?? did you have any metal shavings or debris in the fluid?? i'd pull the filter clean it and make sure the connections are in right. put it back together and flush it. does it make any chattering sounds when running from the tranny??

i think mine is starting to go out. It could just need a good flush, its holding shifts for waay too long and shifting harder

Royal Purple FTW! sept its like $7-$10/qt and if you do a full flush you need about 10 qts :naughty:

if your going to stay auto and want to make your tranny last, get a big tranny cooler, flush the tranny totally, replace the filter and get that tranny pumped full of fresh new royal purple

amen, considering running a 2nd tranny cooler this summer cus i've only got a small one on it. doing this sometime this month aswell. royal purple is pricey but it does what its supposed to.

Hey 92 turbo for life!!! The reason why your trans doesn't shift out of first until 6000RPM's is b/c your flooring it. When you put your shifter in 2 it really means 1 & 2. Try not flooring it while shifting early, it will definatly put it in 2nd gear at a lower RPM. But a trans. flush never hurts : )

where can i get a tranny cooloer and how does it hook up

its bassically just an oil cooler to make things simpler.

i got mine at a local parts store 15'' x 7'' and i just routed the atf lines that go to my radiator to go to the tranny cooler after passing through the radiator (cooler sits infront if ic, i know bad placement for performance but best place i could find) then connect oil cooler outlet to return hose going to tranny. ie passenger side hose on bottom of rad is return hose.

you can get them all over the place online, just look for a generic oil cooler and if you really wanna spend some bucks get one with a thermostat activated fan so you really cool the oil.

If your having shifting probs,it might be a host of problems. The auto is expensive to repair or rebuild. I had bad fluid in mine and just simply replaced it and put fresh fluid in. You can get a used one from a host of j-spec parts importers on the web. Mine was $175,and was put in about 6 hours. A good size trannt cooler never hurts, just put it in-line with the existing cooler piping.

there wasnt any metal shavings but the mangnets at the bottom of the pan broke. the screen was clean. so do you think flussing it would work? i got 3 autos just laying around. but i already got it ready to pull. i would hate to have to put it all back together and it not work.
