Why couldnt Toyota just give us the auto-up feature for the window? Instead they put a little plastic tab there to prevent it. That was the easiest thing I've ever done to the supra.

It nice to have, but the new cars that have it from the factory have an anti-pinch feature. This means that if your hand or finger is in the way when the window is going up, it'll automaticall rll the window back down. I guess back then the anti-pinch feature wasn't available on many cars, thus not allowing Toyota to have auto-up windows

I drove a Scion TC the other day. Auto Up/Down on both sides - and if you stick your hand in the window while it is rolling up it will sense that the hand is there and roll back down - after encountering resistance.

I wanted Auto Up/Down on the passenger side too so I got a nice module to add in. WOOHOO! One touch on two switches and both windows go down (or up).

KeithH, what module did you use? I've been planning on adding it to all of my switches, but if there's already a circuit out there...

I picked up the AutoLoc module (http://www.thehoffmangroup.com:16080/Autoloc/detail.lasso?itemid=WC1000 - $39.99 + shipping). This box is GREAT! All you do is get a new 12VDC+ lead in to the passenger window and hook this box up between the switch and the motor. This will give both switches the Auto Up/Down feature (both drivers and passenger) on the Passenger window. Couple this with removing the tab on the drivers switch and you have Auto Up/Down on both windows. WOOHOO!

The passenger window will sense the the change in resistance and not cut off your hand. I haven't tried it with the drivers window though.

Headlight motors appear to be different with no logic built into them. I would not be surprised to find that they can lop a finger off.

So wait... If I enable the auto-up and the window rolls up on my hand, am I gonna lose some fingers or what? I remember hearing that the headlight motors were strong enough to lop off some digits.

The circuit is built to stop when it gets enough resistance, whether it be getting to the top of the track, or your hand getting in the way. It's the same way it knows when to stop when rolling down.

It will stop before hurting your hand, unless you're a complete wuss.
