I been trying to figure out my transmission dilemna but havent yet.I have a 89 turbo auto that doesnt want to shift.If you put it in low gear and shift it manually,all the gears are there,but if you put it in drive,it starts in drive.The previous owner put in a trans computer and the cable from the trans to the intake on the motor,still the same problem.I had it put on a computer and it said solenoids 1 and 2,so it was suggested that I put a 12 volt power supply to them to see if they were working,and they are(and yes,it is full of fluid).Still the same problem and code coming back.Any ideas,advice or insight would be gratly appreciated.

Well, it is one or the other. Your diagnostic work was flawed somehow.
Solenoid number 1 needs to be on to put the car in first gear.
