Auto tranny wont downshift

ok so my buddies car shifts fine. if you floor it it will shift ~3K in normal and 4500-5 in pwr mode. and it wont downshift at any speed and if driving normal it will shift through the gears and youll be in 4th before you hit 30mph.

I know this is a linkage adjustment issue. but which way, ive tried tightening it and it didnt change, and i figured id see if anyone else ever had this problem and what they did to fix it. thanks

I still dont know what is wrong. Leave your buddies car out of the description if it isnt the car in question.

You cant reach high engine speed becuase of early upshifts? And it wont downshift when at highway speed?

No this is my friends car. im saying that his car shifts fine. but if you floor it from a dead stop it will only go up to 3,000rpm then shift into the next gear, if you switch to pwr mode it will go to ~4500rpm and shift. And it wont downshift at any speed. 75mph i floor it and it just accels in 4th. you have to manually downshift. also the car will go to redline if you manually shift it through the gears.

what condition is the tranny? fluid okay? filter? clogged valves?

have no idea, he just bought the car. it does shift a bit hard.

it possibliy can be the TPS.
