Anyone knwo if the 2JZ / Aristo / and the 7mgte Auto trannies are interchangeable among cars?
I know the 1JZ one works fine on the 7mgte.

My current tranny was shifting fine but i have not been driving the car in a month since I got it. Yesterday, I took it out for a drive and it would barely move in 1st when in drive. Checked fluid and its to the Max, but dirty as hell :( ( pretty much black instead of reddish.
I move from 1st gear ok/kinda slow but still moves quicker than when in drive. Any suggestions??

I'm thinking a flush would help? After a flush maybe it will be better?

Maybe solenoids going bad? or just sticky from sitting from too long?

Tranny is toast???

Thanks for any feedback or suggestions. I just want the quickest cheapest fix possible as this is only a temporary use of this engine/tranny for me in this car.

Thanks,
moe

The M block has a different mounting bolt pattern from the JZ block, so you can't bolt the auto tranny from one onto the other. With a manual transmission, you can swap the bell housings, but I don't think that you can do that with the autos.

The transmission itself is probably the same.
