It is pretty simple. Put your left foot on the brake and gas it with your right foot. It'll cook your tranny/brakes if you get carried away with it but measured ammounts are fine.

werd,
huge advantage at the line. I actually kept up with another supra w/ 5spd & full 3" turbo back running 11lbs.

I was 3" catback w/ 8-10lbs(wasnt exactly sure) and i gained a car length on him right off the line, he sped up and everytime he shifted i gained on him until he hit 4th gear then he took the lead and won by about a tire or two's length.

not bad for less boost more air restriction and auto :biglaugh:

but its supposedly really bad for the tranny. I dont really ever do it, hell only time ill really do it is if im racing against a buddy, i dont feel like burning my tranny up over some person i dont even know :)

it helps launch wise just depends wut rpms you rev it to, 2k+ rpms i start to spin the tires and if you do it to much you'll do wut i did and warp your flex plate.

What rpm should i take off at? Also, are your gas pedals REALLY tight? Its extremely hard for me to step on it a little without flying the car forward. And my brakes have like an inch that does nothing when i lightly step on it. (new supra owner)

Bear in mind, the stall speed on the torque converter is 2500rpm, that means to say, at or about 2500 the tires will start to break loose, so, you need to rev just under 2500 and hold it, then release at the green light, as in staging tree, like riding a bicycle, 1 foot down the other up, once you get the nack of the footwork, it is like a normal reaction. Then all you do is hang on for the ride.

werd, stay below 2500rpm and your Good To Go! its nothing like a launch in a 5spd.

Your factory brakes should be able to hold a full throttle brake stall on a 300 or less hp supra. If not than your brake system may need some attention. At our factory stall rating, you need to have your foot to the floor to be able to build any boost on the line. You will notice that if you let up even a little the boost falls right off. I begin to brake stall my auto with only the first stage light activated. When you get your rpms up and a little boost made, "bump" your car into the second light by giving the brake a slight lift and pump while still on the gas. Your car should move an inch or two each time you do this untill you activate the the second light. When your ready to leave the line just lift your foot off the brake. There is about 2 to 3 tenths in your 60 foot time between brake boosting and not brake boosting at your power level. Get your self a new converter with a 3200 to 3400 stall speed, best mod for the drag strip you will ever buy.
