what happens if you put an atmospheric bov on a maf system. it's only going to run rich after you get off the throttle right? are there any other problems at idle or acceleration?
Do you mean afm? The stock air metering system in the supra is called the afm. The afm will add extra fuel for the unmetered air that's being blown off to the atmosphere, resulting in backfires and even stalling. Idle and acceleration should be fine, but each car will react differently to a BOV that's being unmetered by the afm.
Yes, it will only run rich when you let off the throttle. And if you have it adjusted correctly (i.e. not leaking), then it should be fine during idle, acceleration, and normal driving.
