Istalled yesterday my ATI damper, it is very nice product but there was minor fitment issue I want to share. After installation I couldn't turn engine by hand, found that outer edge of damper rests on the timing belt cover. I marked it with black marker on the first picture. Second picture is of the cover after 5 min of grinding, there is enough "meat" there to do it

Damper OD where it interferes with cover is 172.5mm, it is larger than stock. Another solution would be to chamfer ~ 2mm from the damper. I hope I did not stress internals much and did not damage damper when tightened it against the cover

Доброе утро Владимир. Ваш английский превосходен...лучше чем мой русский ;)

Я только оставил Одессу две недели назад после одного месяца там. Я буду там снова скоро. Хотите встретиться для нескольких пива?

Isn't this an expensive piece?

I wouldn't expect this out of something so expensive

Call up ATI... they need to get that kind of piece right, especially when they speak of the super high quality work they do.

they did get it right. This is NOT an error. Considering that this piece was done with my input and at MY request and guess what all the other 7m ATI are based on??? ;)

Now I realize that without timining marks it would be ~3mm slimmer and not hit the cover
yes and no

they would need to machine it beveled. To me the minor "issue" is outweught by the 360 degree timing marks.
Only way to degree the cams, yes I degree the cams as I have to get a precise timing for sequential fuel injection.
