Rear speed sensor is missing on my r154.

Have got the new tranny in there but it turns out this sensor is missing. Can I do without it? (lol) adapt the AT one?

Or is there somewhere I can just buy one ASAP?

This is so infuriating, everything looked great.... now to be derailed AGAIN and have to be without it for another goddamn week.

From looking through posts on here it sounds like it just controls cruise control which I don't care about (right now). Can I seal it up for now?

EDIT: 89 Turbo w/abs

i did the same swap on my 87 supra turbo and i did notice that you can still use the speed sensor out of the auto but you will have to be careful not to break it as it sits in the sensor pocket in a weird angle compare to the r154 speed sensor, but i believe that you can still use it.

Best solution is to find a new ( used ) one and put it there.

If you can't fro now, make a plug, the ABS sensor does use a O-ring though, just make sure you plug it up, otherwise you will have transmission fluid all over and no transmission. :icon_bigg

OK I'll look into it. It also looks like the stock shifter is way too tall. It looks like I'll be driving a truck! Are there are any shorter shifters out there I can get?

There are shorter shifters out there. The problem is you better get a good one, no cheap EbAy 45.00 one. When you make these guys shorter though, it makes the pivot point different and these R-154 transmissions do not like different shifters. If you really wanted to spend time and create a very good shifter that would also work. A lot of time goes into something like that, and mock up's can't reall ybe made in a day, a lot of thought will go into one.

Good luck.
