Got a 90 7mgte I'm swapping into my 84 4x4, and was tearing the engine down to freshen everything up. The previous owner said the head gasket was done, obviously I had to look for myself. It has arp bolts and what looks like the oem gasket. I was planning on swapping my reman'd head on and using the arp studs and oem gasket I bought, but I'm tempted to just leave it alone since it seems to have been done properly. Engine runs great and didn't have any signs of BHG, previous owner said he did the head gasket to prevent a BHG not to repair. My question is, can I retorque the ARP bolts to make sure everything's tight, or should I just leave it alone and run it? I'm worried if I loosen the bolts one at a time to re-torque, it will cause the HG to move a bit and ruin the seal.

You can do a retorque. You basically just barely crack it loose and then retorque in the tightening sequence.
