I know the early 7M mainstud sets from ARP had some clearence issues. I was wondering what exactly the studs were touching was it the pickup tube or the crossover tube? I am curious since I have a -8 crossover tube if I could just run all studs.

Thanks

they changed to to a bolt where the conflict was IIRC... dunno where the conflict was though, it was a long time ago...

you should have the block prepped with the fasteners you decide to run since they load the caps differently...

Yeah what I was saying is since the Stainless Braid crossover tube sits much lower into the pan vs the stock hardpipe if I could run all studs rathen than having to use the 2 bolts. I know no problems would arise from 2 bolts but im going to be a pansy about it. Or was the clearence issue not with the crossover but the pickup itself?

Installing the head with the ARP studs was somewhat of a breeze but trying to get it back off at a later time with the motor out took damn near an hour! Tight fit.

shouldn't be pulling the head if you did it right the first time :sarcasm:

if you get the ARP studs you'll be able to drop them into that spt and see if it clears and probably be able to contact ARP and order 2 more studs with hardware if needed...

ARP AU3.550-1LB should be the stud part number.
ARP 300-8307 - nut
ARP 200-8500 - washer

Prob cost about 16 bucks
