After i replaced the rubber pipe under my alrernater last weekend the engine idle speed settled right down again. approx 750 rpm.

now its shot right back up to 1300rpm cold start and 1000 rpm when warmed up.

i guess i must have caused a problem by only changing the 1 pipe. perhaps its caused another to colapse and split.

So i was wondering. the tsrm section on changing vac hoses states some sort of pressure on the vac system. How is this measured? and whats it suposed to be at normaly?

incidentally the car feels as if it is missing ever so slightly when idleing at 1000 rpm. but not at normal 750 ish rpm. hopefully new plugs will cure this though

well i changed the cam cover gaskets and i ended up having to replace that same hose too. and it was doing the same thing. rough idle at one part, than fine at another part. i ended up checking my codes and it was code 51 with is the throttle possition sensor. so maybe try that?
