I was at a junk yard the other day and picked up a working set of hood shocks off of an 87T. There are no distinguishing marks so I'm guessing they are aftermarket. Anyways, when I get back and look at my 90T hood shocks (which are blown OEM Tokico's), I see that they bolt to the inner fender. The 87T's shocks simply snapped over little balls mounted on the inner fenders along with identical ones on the hood. I simply pulled on a little metal tab to release.
Also, the top of the 90T shocks seems to be identical as they're attached to little metal balls under the hood, but I can't find the release on the shock anywhere. Am I missing something? Are the ball mounts and shocks one piece on my 90T so I'll have to unscrew them completely out of the hood? Is there anyway to use these 87 hood shocks on my 90, or am I better off just sourcing the correct ones?
