I'm trying to figure out if '85 RX-7 injectors will work on the 7mgte. They're 680cc low-imp (PN 195500-0900, orange top) but I've been searching for a while and haven't seen any info on whether they'll fit the rail or injector clips (or where I can get clips if they're needed). The clips look to be type C (just judging from memory when I pulled my 22re injectors on my 4-Runner), I'm pretty sure the 7m are type E.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

well i just got 720s and i plan on running them on a 500 rwhp motor. i only have a map ecu, but after talking to an engine builder, he said i should have no problem with the 720s. i also would like to run e85, and thats why i have such a big injector!

Don't know much about the MAP ECU, but I think it has an adjustment for inj size. E85 FTW, I'm running 12psi on my dd Escort with a 9.2:1 c/r and no intercooler :)

haha.... wow, escort maddness. and yes, the map ecu is a fuel tuning device. it converts the motor to map, and it allows tuning for different size anything dealing with fuel.

They are actually 700cc at the standard 43psi. I was thinking of using them on my car, the problem is they are pretty expensive to buy from the RX7 guys. Typically they want about $120 for 2. So new RCs only are about $200 more by the time you get the old ones cleaned.

Even better :) I've got a source where I can get them for a good price, just trying to figure out if they'll fit and where I can get some injector clips to hook 'em up. If it's going to be too much work I'll just go with RCs.

I'm sure they'll fit fine. I use the later FC high imp 550s in my car now. The GSLSE 680s are a popular upgrade for the early FC guys. The clip is a standard injector clip I believe.

Picked up 6 brand new (old stock) injectors off ebay for $240:biglaugh: Fuel system complete, now I just need a turbo to help me use all the fuel...

So by "standard" you mean I should be able to use any aftermarket clip like the ones RC sells for their injectors (type C connector I think)?

Answered my own question, forgot I had a set of Honda injectors with clips in my parts pile for my turbo 4runner project. Clips are type C and fit the RX7 injectors.

As a side note, replacement fuel injector clips(for wiring harness) can be obtained from auto parts stores to replace broken stock clips. I got the parts from autozone:
