Maybe I'm missing something here. You're saying that if you got rid of the ugly lights (which would include replacing the hood) and painted the car a different color (lets say black for demonstration purposes) it would be a nice car. From what I've seen, I agree with you here. But wouldn't that make it look like every other mkIII out there? Why not just buy a mkIII that doesn't need the work. It's all in good fun anyway (no harm intended) I'm confused... Is there something else about this car (becides the lights and color) that is different about this car? Am I just being stupid and missing a joke. I don't know

Actually *puts on flame-proof suit* I like the tail lights...the headlights are FUGLY with an italicized F! Other than the headlights and the hood it's not bad. I like the shaved door handles and the color...

yes. i am saying that. then you have a nice stock MKIII to start with. do some repairs, and you're done. it's better than losing another one, if you ask me. it's basically the headlights and tail lights that make this an "ebay special."

You have a good point!! I agree... but that discussion wouldn't be nearly as fun. I also think if you took out the headlights, and painted the car, not many people would complain too much about the tail lights. If it was just the tail lights on a red car (I wouldn't like it, but) I wouldn't complain.
