Anyone producing 400hp+ with an old block?

hi,

I am rebuilding my 89 7mgte block and was wondering if it is worth investing the money and time to rebuild my old block. The block have about 160k miles on it but it still looks good. What are you guys thoughs on rebuilding up the old block?

Should buy a jdm motor and than do the rebuild? Whats the different between rebuilding the 7mgte motor and the jdm motor?

I was putting down somewhere near 400 with my old block... I definately could have done a better build though... as long as you do a good rebuild you should be fine... I used a used block from a wrecked supra, since you're going to rebuild you should be fine. Just make sure everything is put back together correctly...

I used a brand new block and it did move around some while it heat cycled!
