anyone know about how much our alternators weigh?

6-8 lbs? It's really just a guess, I put mine in yesterday, and wasn't really thinking about it but they're not all that heavy from what I remember.

Ya its not more than 15, that would be a safe bet. And I can't imagine shipping for 10, or 15 pounds would be much different.

I'd go out and take it off and weigh it for you... but I'm on meds and would probably hurt myself by dropping it on my foot as CK said.

go to your local grocery store with your mom and have it in her purse. take it out in the produce isle and stick it on the wieght thingy. lol

I had an alternator shipped to me, I still have the box It came in, Ill check on the tag how much it weighs tomorrow.

If I remember correctly it cost the shipper like $10dlls to ship it to me through the US post Office.

I have a brand new one in my room somewhere, when I find it I'll weigh it and tell you what I get. My guess would be around 15 pounds though.

If it will fit in a UPSP Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping box, then it only costs $8.95 to ship anything that weighs up to 70 pounds. (Within the 48 states).

I just weigh'd the alternater and it came out to 10 pounds. I used a bathroom scale by the way.
