Some idiot ran is HHR -----WITHOUT OIL----- locked it up and brought it in to the shop a few days ago. So I was notified today that I would be the one to pull the motor. We have a full shop with lifts and air wrenches and everything so its not going to be for lack of equipment. However noone in the shop has ever touched one before and I have a lot of experience with smaller motors (than Chevy V8s). It gives me the chance to work on something with the cams on the right side of the engine for a change so I jumped at the chance.
I plan to take a digital camera and take pictures of the removal so I can better see how to put everything back together when it has to be reassembled.
Has anyone else done this before, and if so any other pointers for removal. I know it drops out from the bottom connected to the front frame, but thats all I know.
