Anybody have this muffler? (just bought one)

It's not installed yet, I'm just wondering if anybody has the same one and could comment on how it sounded on their NA's... It's a magnaflow polished stainless steel 5"x8" oval... 2.25" inlet // dual 3" out...

I opted for the dual 3" outlet over the dual 3.5" to try to get away from the ricer look... 3" is still a little big for my liking, and dual 3 is the smallest round ones I could get.. oh I got it for $200 can from a local lordco... listed for $300 canadian..

Ya my car has a resonator installed halfway through the exhaust, I might end up taking that out aswell... or I might not, depending on how loud it is... I'm just lookin for a nice deep tone at the low end... I will record how it sounds and put up a vid for you guys when I get it installed!

get rid of thr resonator. it restricts air flow and robs you of hp.

when I went to my muffler guy we just held one up to the pipe and you could tell a real difference. Your new setup should have plenty of low end growl.

good, that's what i'm lookin for... my worst fear is for it to sound like one of those honda's rippin around with coffee cans stickin out the back.. but then I remember my smooth 3L inline 6 and all my fears go away haha

well got the muffler on today... sounds pretty... loud.. haha.. I'll get a vid up later on... I think I might go back to the shop and tell em to make me a full exhaust system and get rid of the cat (hehe love having an 88.. it's legal in canada... dunno about U.S.).. because I think the little resonator is adding a bit of raspiness to the sound which I dont want... or it might make it even worse... either way i'll be doing a straight pipe back when I do a turbo swap in a year and a bit...

hehe looks damn fine on there tho!

On an NA if you ditch the resonator you run the risk of getting a drone right on highway cruise....
(I was NA for many years before building my NA/t)

meh, loud music cures that hehe... I want to get a fresh exhaust system on there anywyas.. I can always get another resonator put on if I dont like the sound.

Even in a Turbo I am NOT a fan of any exhaust without a resonator due to drone. I prefer a slightly quieter exhaust to a slightly faster car any day.
