Properly degreed and installed the sound won't change. The difference is marginal on a stock car, but will make a large difference on a heavily modified one...

You'll change your powerband. You'll hold boost til redline and pull hard the whole way through.
But as stated, they will benefit more with other supporting mods and of course a good breathing engine.

Why yes, I have two.

lol, seriously though - stock exhaust with cams is a no. You need to beef up the intake and exhaust, before worrying about how much airflow the camshafts are directing through the head. (exhaust includes from the head to the turbo, btw)

Please dont take this the wrong way, but cams for "sound" is stupid.

Cams need to be matched with the rest of the combo. Turbo, style of intake manifold, head flow, compression, torque converter (if auto) etc. If you're staying close to stock, cams are probably a wast of money as you'll probably see more hp/$$ elsewhere.

they're somewhere in the 10% area of improvement IIRC (like if you put them on a stock engine you might see 20HP to the wheels, but on a 500HP engine you'll see 50HP more)

bang for the buck they're useless, and like I said, they won't chang ethe sound of the engine much (if at all) if properly installed and tuned.

Keep in mind people have made big power on stock cams (well over 500HP)

UHOH wheres IJ when we need him lol

Cams will like said before effect the whole powerband

Before cams I would get a better manifold, upgraded turbo, dp, and exhaust, oh and intake.... Then you may see a benefit..

I agree with most, unless you make other improvements they won't make to much difference. You have to get it to flow better to take advantage of any gain. And have some way of tuning, without it you will probably run worse than you did, I know from experience on that note. I did all the mods and still couldn't get it to run right without the ability to tune. Don't know if a turbo would be different.

ok since we are on the subject on more flow i figured id throw this in here as well... how much would it be to completely port and polish the head?? cuz i have no idea but would like to know. oh and what kinda power expectancy??

One of our vendors has a post on P&P heads. As far as how much you could expect to gain, depends on what other mods you have to go with it like any thing else you bolt on these little 6 bangers. I've been told there is a lot of power to be had in the 7M heads by several "old school mechanics". It's very hard to put exact nos. on a mod which is why vendors always say "it depends on what else you have" Or "depends on what kind of tuning you do"..

Too vague.

There are several levels of "porting and polishing". It varies from a basic gasket-match and bowl blend, to completely reshaping the whole port for maximum flow.

The degree of porting should coincide with the rest of your modifications and the intended use of the vehicle....

well from my under standing cams make the 7m mean but you need supporters to help add the gain from lager lift and slight lager duration

but if you have mostly stock head na cams may be a good idea

i ran them in both of my supra's and find the na cam to be much better for my driveing style plus they pull better to red line still drops off but not as bad

oh yae there is gain power as well
