Some website called ning.com is royally pissing me off right now. It mainly pops up in my hotmail email (moreso replaces the current page with it's sign up page and doesn't give the option to go back a page). It's really pissing me off since I try and check my email and the f***ing thing keeps popping up. Any way I can fully block this site from showing up? IE make it so I can't go to it?:: angry ::

Edit the file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts

Under the line "127.0.0.1 localhost"

Add the following:
127.0.0.1 ning.com
127.0.0.1 www.ning.com

Read my post on how the internet works here:

What this basically does is tell your computer that ning.com is your local machine, effectively overriding DNS and cutting off access to it. Anything in the hosts file overrides any answer that a DNS server might give.

That should do it.

You should also download an install:

AdAware - http://www.lavasoft.com/
SpyBot Search & Destroy - www.safer-networking.org/
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Sounds like your PC is infected with malware.

Ning sounds like a shady outfit at best:

You a member of any ning 'communities'?

P.S. Be sure the file hosts is saved without an extension. hosts.txt or hosts.doc won't work - it must be just 'hosts'
