From looking at the TSRM it looks straight forward. Only concern I have is that it calls for an SST to remove the BallJoint from the steering knuckle. What have you used if not the SST or is that the only way? Any other tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Ball joint fork and a hammer. You can rent them at most auto parts stores. They usually have a few sizes, the medium/large one is the one you need. If you go to the store with your new ball joint, get the fork that fits over the threaded stud but not so big that it doesn't make contact with the base.

or backyard way...

you get new nuts with the bal joints anyway so just undo it till the nut is flush with the top of the threed with the car WELL supported by jack stands turn the wheel to the opperset lock to the side your working on and put a jack under the wheel and put some load on it then use a suitable brass or alloy drift and large hammer.. normaly only takes one or two good hits thats if it hasnt come lose and floged out the upright allredy (common)

Thanks guys. I'll use the Ball Joint fork. I seen them used on other cars but wasn't sure it would work on the MK3 because the TSRM SST Looked more like a small gear puller. Another question, the new LBJ's have a hole for a greese fitting but the stock (Toyota) dosen't. Is it ok to install a fitting & pack it? I would think it could help extend the life of the ball joint.

Thanks
