Any problems with swapping a pre-89 JDM 7mgte into a 91 USDM previously 7mgte Supra?

Just like the title says, think there would be any potential problems swapping in a pre-89 (6m crank) JDM 7mgte into a '91 USDM R154 Turbo? The idea is that I'll be replacing a 7mgte with rod knock with a JDM 7mgte longblock (in this case everything from the crank to the cams but without external accessories) and just put the accessories from the '91 onto the longblock. I know the EGR is different. Anything I should be worried about doing this swap?

Did do a search but didn't come up with anything. Thanks in advance, really appreciate it.

I dont believe you should have any major issues, and as far as the egr is concerned, I just got a block off plate from driftmotion. I believe its 28 bucks

If you're hooking it up with the USDM computer, I'd move the EGR over rather than put the block off plates in. There's lots of threads arguing back and forth on it, but honestly, what's the downside to having it in? You'll get slightly better gas mileage, lower EGT's, and it's not even on after 4k rpm so it won't rob you power at the top end. I have no idea if you've got emissions control in your area, but good luck passing without the EGR if you do ;)

I know the throttle cable hooks up differently on the JDM's because of the RHD vs LHD, but I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. You should be able to just use the assembly off your other engine though I would think.

Good point about the throttle cable... hmm think Ill need to mod or extend it? Yeah I'm going to leave the EGR in I just didn't know if the block or whatever even has a place for it. I remember reading a thing on SF about dropping EGTs by a couple hundred degrees with EGR in vs not in. I'm from vegas so emmissions aren't too bad but you do need a cat and egr. Or something that resembles a cat lol, I think without operational EGR the sniffer would catch it though. Sweet... I'll be droppin it in a few weeks from now maybe I'll do a writeup since I havent contributed jack to this forum yet lol.

Yeah I just realized with the throttle cable, I will just be able to use the intake mani and TB off the old USDM setup. I'm just swapping the longblock, nothing past the head.
