As those of you that have checked out my build thread know, last July I purchased my first Supra, an 89 Turbo 5 speed. Since September she has been out of commission, sitting in the comfort of my garage while the trusty 4Runner gets me through another winter, only this time the runner has to sit out in the cold. Supra-fever seems to have gotten the best of me over the winter. I contracted Pat with Legend of Aces to build me a Stage 2 engine, I ordered a Boss Jr turbo from Jack at Suprasport, and it seems that every week Santa was disguised as the UPS man with yet another Supra goodie for me. I knew that summer was a long way off, but the steady influx of new parts kept me busy enough (and happy enough) to keep my mind off of the countdown to May. Well now it seems that I have bought everything that was on my 2008-2010 list, and the reality has set in that I have a long time to wait before the new engine, turbo, and all necessary accessories are installed, and I can finally turn the key to a 400hp reliable (hope hope) Supra.
I'm stuck playing the waiting game now, but I know I'm not the first, and I surely won't be the last. So for all of you in the forever-summer southern states, I send a big fat sarcastic FU, while I pull the starter on my Honda snowthrower and look back at my hibernating 89 turbo just waiting to be warmed up.
Thanks for reading, and please support accelerated global warming...because winter sucks! And feel free to share your own anticipation story.
Keith, let me know when that garage spot opens up! Haha!
