Hi there,

Been a long time lurker and figured it was finally time that I make one of these introduction topics. The names Glenn, I'm a proud owner of a 1988 GA70.

Picked up the car in September 2006 not knowing the difference between any of the engines or that there was even narrow body/wide body versions. Turns out I was unlucky enough to end up with a Narrow body 1G... Long story short, I am now the proud owner or a 1jz equipped GA70 that as of last night, has developed rod knock...

Lucky me!

I would love to go 1.5JZ. But at the moment funds don't want to agree. I have found a 1jz block with 104k km's on it so as a quick fix I'll get all the seals done and drop it in. Hopefully it's back on the road within 2 weeks. Then I can build up the other block, or throw it in the trash and find a 2jz bottom end :). I'm surprised that after the 1G went that I didn't buy a spare car, wishing I did now... Good thing the engine didn't go tomorrow at a dyno day. Now that would have been bad.

Quite possibly, I work down there. All depends what time. If it was a guy driving like he stole it, was most likely me... running super rich too :D.

Haha I guess it was. Was it on a Saturday and was there an RX7 and Gemini involved? They started it!:biglaugh: I work at Jayco on Dandy/Frankston road and every night there is kinda of a Jayco GP. Quite ammusing.

Ah fair enough, forget I said anything about the Saturday then :icon_bigg. Was hoping you were from SE suburbs... Theres no one out this way... All the A70's out this way are in real bad shape, like the one last week that was missing its front end.

On another note, I have noticed a lot of people talking about the 1jz's and there lack of torque. Just went and picked up the results from my dyno tuning yesterday, and on the run just before the engine went boom, it put down 218rwkw and 818nmtq. Now would having a 4.56 lsd throw out the reading by quite a bit? Seems like the torque is way off to me. Although its fun to tell people it has 800+ :D.
