HI
I just wanted to verify that the only reason coolant would be pushed into the reservoir would be a BHG, correct? It's not overheating, but when it gets to normal operation temp, it is pushing out coolant. I've read some other threads and it seems that a BHG is the reason....Sucks because I just went through all the trouble of doing valve stem seals with the head on... Oh well. Oh, and if anyone has a good link to a thread describing the best wat to tackle a HG, I would appriciate it!

Hvyman, Could you explain the block test to me or point me to a good thread? Thanks for the help!

Yes, boss.
In reality though, it's the best way to help you. But you maybe have a different Google than I?
You can buy a block test kit from most parts stores. Pretty cheap and reliable item that tests for hydrocarbons in your cooling system. Typically hydrocarbons in your coolant mean bhg.

Thanks for the help. I'm still learning how to do some of these things. I did get better results on Google when I put "engine block test". I will pick one up and post the results.

Sweet.
BHG, unless it's gone too long, really isn't that big a deal. Just do your research and don't cut corners. Most BHG threads will be a back and forth of opinions. But if you read a few, you'll get a good grasp of what most everyone agrees on.
Use a combination of the forums, TSRM and common sense and you'll do fine.
Good luck man.

Its not that bad, I had the head removed and taken apart in a weekend, and that was just with spare time. Total time so far is maybe 6 or 7 hours.

Thanks for all the help and support! It's great to have experienced guys to talk to about this. It almost makes trial and error a thing of the past. I will tackle it soon.

Well, pulled the plugs and I can see coolant in the #6 cylinder...BHG. Motor was rebuilt before I bought it. Guessing it was not torqued to the higher spec. Not sure why else it would have blown unless the head/block is warped. Thanks again to everyone for the advice.
