OK i got a 91 N/A that i want to convert to 1uzfe.

If anyone with knowledge can point me in the first 5 things i need for this swap it would help out a lot

I can get a 1uzfe from 95 ls400 delivered by monday for $550 with 72k on it and its from a working, running lexus here in florida.

I have a good w58 so i guess i need the adapter plate

Dont know if motor comes with ECU, so maybe ECU

Iv seen where i can get the file for the motor mounts, so that shouldnt be much to make

seen some pdf files on wiring (need help here)

What else do i need to at least get this project 50% done? links info experience all welcome.

I have a limited amount of time to get this done about 2 months.

Ill try to post pics later today

You would need the rear sump pan and accessories from a SC 1UZ-FE, so just getting a SC 1UZ would be a easier starting point.

As for engine mounts, you have a few options, you can make swap brackets (bolt-on) or you can do one off mounts, or some combination of the two. Solid mounts seem to be popular, I guess mainly because there simple to fabricate, and the engine runs very smooth from the factory.

From my experience there is really only 7-10 wires needed to make the engine run in the MKIII chassis, but to get your gauges, haz-horn, AC, and heat to work, you would need to do more wiring. Check e-bay out for electrical wiring books for the car your 1UZ came from, that will allow you do do the wiring. I would offer my wiring schematics, but mine are for a pre-89 Supra, so your car will have slightly different wiring.

ok so the 5 major parts i need are? just to get it to start and drive.
1 1uzfe motor, if not from a sc then the rear sump and acc.
2 1uzfe ecu
3 custom solid motor mounts ( seen that you tube with the cobra balancing a coin on the intake )
4 schematics to water jet the adapter plate for w58
5 custom exhaust
I know its gonna be a lot of stuff other than this, i can live without gauges for a bit.

Im trying to get all the stuff together . I have the 7mge sold as soon as it comes out. and am trying to get this done in like a week after i pull it.

if anyone sees a problem with this build, or that im missing something painfully obvious please help.
Thank you to Chambers and to Suprastanger, i would have gotten the ls motor.

the 1uz is a cool engine to have in the mkiii and sounds awesome with a nice exhaust, are you just leaving the 1uz n/a or maybe putting a turbo or two on it?

either way good luck with the build, hope it goes well

check out this guys build thread maybe you can have some questions answered in there or maybe ask him some stuff, ive seen his car in person and it was definitely nice

1UZFE SWAP DUDE!!!
the design that's floating around for the solid mounts is for pre89 only.
also don't even bother with a ls motor.
you'll also need a hydraulic throwout. (or get really creative)
an brake booster from a post 89 toyota truck,
2 38" -4 braided lines with 1 90 degree end.
and lots of odds and ends.
if you have any questions about the fit feel free to ask. I've had my 1uz in an out about 3 times this week looking for the perfect placement. lol. There's lots and lots of little details that people haven't brought up in their 1uz builds.

and here's my build so far. I should have it up and running in the next twoweeks.

For now i just want the motor in there running. but i have looked into maybe a m90 SC, they are cheap as heck on ebay. With a custom intake.

Also have wild dreams of a custom PU Foam wide body with a TT or maybe a Procharger twin intercooled. Iv seen some smaller intercoolers for about $150 each should work great for that.

I have been following that build 4U2QUIK and have taken many notes , Thanks man I appreciate the time you take to document your build.

OK I tracked down 6 1uz's from a local vendor at $450 each. from SC's . and my buddy just so happens to have a 89 toyota pickup junker so the booster is a Go!
Haven't gotten a camera yet. but pics should be up in 3 days at the most.

Its about $2000 to get the car to PR.

Do you guys think that a 1uz fe is worth the conversion $$ + shipping? I bought it for $2500 (I know, kind of a lot) and it needs a clutch , head gasket+ radiator to make it prime stock(+dings, paint). So my question is :

Should I, who have already invested 2500, get the 1uz conversion done + pay another 2000 to get it there. Having a v8(poss m90 sc) good cond, ,leather int mk3?

or,sell it for what I can save up the shipping and try for a 4-6K car over there? keep in mind, im prob looking at a mr2 or *gasp* 240sx, cause the sups i seen for sale were like 5K+ stockers. ??

SO im debating selling or modding+ship , any advice is welcome.

I kinda skimmed through the thread but if you get an LS400 engine, I have a SC400 oil pan/dipstick for trade for your LS400 one if you decide to.

Also check out www.Quantum-Auto.com for a manual adaptation kit. My buddy runs it. Plus its local (Tampa), so no shipping or anything.

Depending on your time frame, I can get your post 89 motor mounts.

Just PM me or something if you want more info.
