So i bought EBC greens off of this guy Louis for a good price and i was installing them the other day. I got the passenger set of pads in by pushing in the piston w/o opening the bleeder valve but the driver's side was giving me problems. The caliper slide on the driver's side caliper was seized so i decided to use the caliper off the 86 parts car. I got everything in but the damn bleeder valve broke because it was rusted. I have brake pressure but my brakes are spongy. I cant bleed them. how do i get the rest of this bleeder valve out? i have about 5mm of thread to work with. is there any way around this. thanks

Agreed, PB blaster and an easy out are probably your best bet. Another option would be PB and then use a dremel to cut a slot into the remaining bleeder for a flat head screw driver... but the easy out will let you torque it a bit harder.

For ~$50 you could get a rebuilt caliper, or both calipers with pads for ~$80. Considering the PITA it could be to fix that I think those are good options, plus the sliders will work nice.

With a little work you can free up the slider on the original caliper and go back to using that one. If it were me thats what I'd do. Getting that busted bleeder out is probably more hassle.

Getting out the bleeder is not going to happen. Im willing to bet the easy out wont work. This is a common occurance for them to seize on cars.. You need to buy another caliper. LIke someone else said they are cheap.

yea.. not to say the same thing everyone else did, but buying a rebuilt one (or two) would be great. if yours was rusted enough to break a bleeder screw then i'd be worried to run em.....
