Well I was cleaning out my new supra and found an amp under the passenger side seat... I'm just wondering if this came with the factory radio or was added afterwards... It has all the power and speaker wires are all bunched together in a little harness, so it looks like it came from the factory...

I found an amp under my Supra's passenger seat too, but it's an 87 so I guess it's not factory. :wiggle:

Ya, mines an 88 with the 4 speaker setup... it doesnt seem like it couldn't be factory, with the wiring harness and everything... hmmm ya it's only 30Wx2..

3owx2 was alot back then. People were still bridging shit from there home stereo's into there cars. This was back when hifi meant something. I hadn'teven thought of looking under the passenger seat. The stereo in our 91 didn't work so I plopped that mofo out and went and put a Pioneer super tuner III in it 50wx4. I don't need all of that shiat that goes with the window and trunk rattle set up.. Matter of fact I think i am going to have to strip out the hatchback. I may have standing water and that leads to rust..., and none of us here want that. Am I right, or am I right.

In the area that holds the jack I had about 8 inches of water in that little area... water wasnt rust coloured or anything... but I'm glad I found it during my first detailing of my car (just got it)... I just soaked it up with paper towel (used a whole bunch!)... I found a gold barbie shoe at the bottom... I heard something rattling around at the bottom of the water.. thought it might have been something valuable... nope...

well well cindarella and his golden slipper. Kidding man. Seriously though. I have just had so much to do to this car since I got it home nd when it was broken down I should have done some extra things. It seems like there is something I can do to the car on a daily basis. ya know.

8 hours hand-sanding bondo down to match the level of the spare tire well. had water damage/rust in mine.

ive got the 6 speaker system in my 89 but im guessin the amp went when the car was flooded. kinda suspicious my tems actuators disappeared after the flood too...damn shop.

you should be making plans to redo it the right way..., bondo is a temporary fix at best. If I have water down there it didn't just start happening. But I'm only checking out of gut instinct.
