Last night around 10:30 PM I was going to albertsons to get some stuff for my mom to make Jello for christmas.. And on my way out, I decided to drive fora few minuites. I pull out and drive rather slow, as im not feeling the urge to boost. As I drive down this long straight stret with a speed limit of 40. A loud roar approaches from behind.
I see 4 headlights, 2 on each side, pretty far apart. I have my windows down, with the heater blaring, jsut so I can hear the high pitched whine of my HKS carbon Ti, and whe spool of my turbochargers. This car pulls up next to me, and I see the most distinctive color ever, Hemi Orange...
Its a Dodge Challenger, a 1970 to be exact. The kid that owns it lives on the street behind me, His dad fixed it up, and its his now. Its a 340 with an automatic.
he revs. I nod, He honks his horn, 3, 2, 1. He romps on it. Its just then in that tinyfraction of a milisecond before his cabin was out of view, that I saw a woman in the car, lets do some embarassing. I drop from 5th to 3rd(I was revving low) and instantly the CD's below my CD player fly into the passenger seat. 7k RPM I slam it down to 4th, He isnt very far away. maybe 1 car ahead. I look at my boost guage. .7 bar I then glance at my SAFC, %60 throttle? WTF. I depres it slowly to the ground and I see the guage peg at 1.2 bar, the SAFC disagreed, but it was still over 1 bar.
7k RPM. Slam it into 5th. By the time I got into 5th gear, I was ahead by the length of an MR2(AW11). At this pont we were also doing around 110ishmph, thank god for no streetlights. As I pulled my second car length on him. he highbeamed me, It was over. We pulled into a 7-11 parking lot and chit chatted, At this point I believe the victor should be able to snatch the looser woman, but that isnt in the rules, yet.
I couldnt convince him that I only had 2.5 liters. I pointed it out look, the valve covers say 2500! I ended up having to show him on my cell phone(thank god for internet).
